India uses the Indian Rupee (INR). Cards are widely used, but small cash is useful for autos, markets and small food stalls. Exchange money only at a bank, airport counter or RBI-authorised money changer, and keep the receipt if you may reconvert unused rupees.

Our direct booking flow is secured by Stayflexi. For payment at the property, please message the front desk with your card type before arrival so we can confirm current terminal acceptance. Carry a second card and some INR as a backup.
03What is the easiest way to get mobile data?+
International roaming or a travel eSIM is the quickest option on arrival. For a local SIM, visit an authorised telecom store with your passport and valid visa; activation can take time. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout NMS Grand View.
04How should I get around Pondicherry?+
White Town and the Promenade are best explored on foot. For Auroville or beaches, ask our front desk to arrange a known taxi or auto. If taking an auto independently, agree the fare and destination before starting.
05Can I rent a scooter or car?+
Only drive if you are comfortable with local traffic. India drives on the left, helmets are essential, and international visitors should carry a valid International Driving Permit together with their home licence.
06Which payment backup works best?+
Keep one physical card separate from your wallet and a modest amount of cash. Some foreign cards may decline online or contactless transactions until international usage is enabled by the issuing bank.
